Go to the IRIS FBR portal. Register for an unregistered individual by clicking the green tab.
After you submit, you will be given a username/password. On logging in, you are to fill 181 application form which will get you an NTN number.
Now you are registered. Open the IRIS FBR portal again and click on enrolment for registered people. A password will be sent to you. This password and your CNIC will allow you to log in.
After filling out your income details, a form will be displayed. You will then be registered as a filer in Pakistan.

What is FBR and what does it do?
FBR is the Federal Board of Revenue. It is a government entity that deals with taxation. Before 2007, there used to be a Central Board of Revenue, but FBR ACT 2007 turned CBR into the Federal Board of Revenue FBR. The major Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
How to Become a Filer in Pakistan
You can divide the entire process of becoming a Pakistani filer into two parts. This is the first.
You first need to register with FBR in order to get a National Tax Number NTN
You can apply for a tax filer with that NTN number and become an active Taxpayer.

How do I get an NTN number (The first step in becoming a filer).
Go to google and search IRIS FBR, and open the first appeared website or click here.
Click the tab “Registration of Unregistered Person”, where the red arrow points.
Some documents are required for everyone, from salaried employees to business owners and company holders. A detail of all the required documents for the relevant persons is provided here.
Below is a form. The form will ask you to fill in all information. You will need to provide your email address and phone number. You will receive a confirmation code via email. These codes are to be entered in the areas where the red and green arrows point. Complete the form and click on Submit.
Your mobile number and email address will receive a password with a pin. You will receive your password and ID by using your CNIC number.
Open the IRIS FBR portal again and log in using your CNIC in ID box and the password that was sent to.
Name the draft181 Application Form. After filling out and attaching the necessary documents, click on the Edit button. Submit it. Don’t forget to submit it if you are a salaried employee.
Congratulations, in a few hours you will be registered and get your NTN number.
How do I get enrolled once I have an NTN number? (second step in becoming a filer).
After you have registered with FBR and received your NTN number you can now open the IRIS FBR portal. Click here
Click on the button below. Registering for an e-enrolments shown below
Then, you will need to enter your name, CNIC, and mobile number as well as your email address. Complete this form and click on “Submit”.
After being successfully enrolled you will be sent a password via email, or by cell phone.
In the following box, enter your CNIC number register box enter the password that you have been given.
Click on the submit button to view a draft for registration as a filer. Complete the required information and submit it.
FBR will send you an email to confirm your registration as a filer.
How do I check the Active Taxpayer List?
There are three ways to check if you are on the FBR List of Active taxpayers.
1. Checking via ATL list download
Each Monday, FBR uploads the list of active taxpayers. You can download it from this link.

Send it to 9966 by opening the messaging app.
You can use NTN numbers to identify yourself as a businessman, or a company owner.
3. Checking ATL via Online portal
Open this link.
After selecting the parameter type CNIC, NTN, or any other, you will need to enter your CNIC/NTN number without dashes. Finally, you can click on verify after entering the date.
What are the advantages of being a filer?
Filer is the term for a person who pays taxes. Non-filers are those who are eligible to pay but do not. The government offers many benefits for the filer. Here are the benefits of becoming a filer.
On the other hand, there is a 50% relaxation vehicle token tax for a filer. If a filer pays Rs.40,000, the non-filer will only pay Rs.20,000
